As a devoted chocolate enthusiast, I’ll always embrace Valentine’s Day — for the camp alone. Pink and red forever. This year I printed old photos of my husband and me (college through now) and framed them. A simple, inexpensive gesture that has entertained everyone — especially the kids.
I took a quick trip to Hawaii with my two, which inspired the warm-weather list below. As temperatures rise, I’m ready to “free the knees,” as our friends at Cadets always say. You can find a lot more warm weather inspiration here.
For my birthday, my husband recreated my favorite meal from Frankie’s Spuntino in Brooklyn: their Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad and Cavatelli with Hot Sausage and Browned Sage Butter. The recipe is here — and it’s worth it. This was topped off with the best Coconut Cake from Black Jet Bakery in San Francisco.
