No one knows about kids’ fashion better than Sarah Clary, stylist and creative director extraordinaire, who has has worked with brands like GAP Kids, Kule, Old Navy, Burberry, and J.Crew (where she led styling for crewcuts, the beloved kids division). So we are honored that she and her two children are fans of Dodo pajamas and that she took the time to chat with us about bedtime rituals, bedrooms that bend the rules, and more.
Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your bedtime story with us!
I always ask both my kids their “roses, thorns, and buds” for the day, which often leads to an interesting story or event from their day. There are lots of kisses and snuggles always. With my daughter, it is a back-and-forth as I leave the room. "Night night banana moon, night night poo-poo, see you soon baboon… etc." With my son, it’s what we will dream about tonight.
Well, my son has a mini basketball court, rock climbing wall, and large chalkboard in his room All really cool things. My daughter has monkey bars underneath her loft bed, and her most prized possession is a built-in couch with "adult” pillows and her lovies.
See pics of Luke and June’s “rule-bending” bedrooms here.
We go through phases, for sure, but when they were babies, I used to sing the words from the book Ten Little Fingers. They still ask me to do that.
If only I could remember my dreams; I wish I did. But mostly, I want to wake up happy and peaceful. That seems like a good way to start any day.
